Course Registration

1. How do I register for courses in the TEFL program at Chulalongkorn University once I get admitted? 

To register for courses, log in to the course registration website at https://www.reg.chula.ac.th/en/ with your student ID. Once logged in, you can view available courses for the semester, select your desired courses, and complete the registration process.

3. When is the registration period for TEFL courses?

4. Where can I check the course schedule of each semester?

5. Can I add or drop TEFL courses after registration?

Yes, students can add or drop courses during the designated "Add/Drop" period at the beginning of the semester. The exact dates are provided in the academic calendar available on the website of the Office of Registrar or CUNEX application.

 

6. What should I do if a course I want to register for is full?

If a course is full, you can contact the TEFL program office or the course instructor to inquire about waitlisting options or the possibility of enrolling in the course if a spot becomes available. This must be done before the semester begins.

 

7. How can I check if my registration was successful?

After completing the registration process, you can verify your registration by checking your enrolled courses on the registration website. Meanwhile, you can check your requested registration result (CR74) to see the courses that are successfully registered and the courses that are not registered.

 

8. Can I take elective courses from other departments as part of the TEFL program?

Yes, students are generally allowed to take elective courses from other departments. It is best to consult with your academic advisor to ensure the elective course aligns with your program requirements. This must be done within the first two weeks after the semester begins. 

Note: Graduate students who registered undergraduate-level courses according to the Graduate School’s Announcement should have those courses evaluated by S/U method only. Registration in this condition must comply with their program’s study plan. 9. What happens if I miss the registration deadline?

If you miss the registration deadline, you may still be able to register during the late registration period with a penalty fee. This must be done within the timeline. It is important to act quickly, as failing to register during the late period may prevent you from enrolling in courses for the semester. Refer to the “Course Registration Manual” under Section 4. Late Registration, Adding Courses, and Changing Section.

10. What should I do if I need to withdraw from a course?

If you need to withdraw from a course, follow the official withdrawal procedure outlined in the course registration manual under course withdrawal section. Be mindful of withdrawal deadlines, as withdrawing after the deadline could affect your academic record.

Visa Process for International Students

1. What type of visa do I need as an international student in the TEFL program at Chulalongkorn University?

International students enrolling in the Master’s Degree of Education in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) need a Non-Immigrant ED (Education) visa. This visa allows you to study full-time in Thailand for the duration of your program.

 

2. How do I apply for a Non-Immigrant ED visa?

3. What is the duration of the Non-Immigrant ED visa?

Initially, the Non-Immigrant ED visa is typically issued for 90 days. After arriving in Thailand, you must extend the visa for the duration of your studies by applying for a visa extension at the Immigration Bureau.

 

4. How can I extend my Non-Immigrant ED visa?

You can extend your visa after the initial 90-day period. You must request documents required to apply for an extension at the Thai Immigration Bureau through this visa application system (https://visa.inter.chula.ac.th/ ). (Submit your visa extension request to the Office of International Affairs at least 45 days before the visa expiration date.)

 

5. Where can I collect my visa extension request documents?

You will be notified once the documents are ready to collect. Students must collect documents in person at the faculty's one-stop service and present their student ID card at the counter.

 

6. What is the 90-day report requirement?

All international students holding a Non-Immigrant ED visa must report their current address to the Thai Immigration Bureau every 90 days. You can do this by visiting the immigration office or completing the process online. Failure to report may result in a fine.
